Carers and carer’s organisations were heavily involved in the development of the strategy which focuses on providing help for people who look after someone who could not do without their help without getting paid.

The scheme will actually get going in October this year after action plans to put the plan into practice have been agreed by the Council Executive and considered by the Overview and Scrutiny Committees concerned at their June meeting.
