Mike Squires 29 July, 2009

The agenda of the meeting was far too crowded for a proper discussion.
It would have been better to separate the two parts.
Have the presentation at one meeting and the Link meeting at another. That way there would have been a proper and fruitful discussion of both the presentation and the business of the LINK.
The Link business was all rather rushed with little time for a proper discussion about each of the items.
One issue of particular concern is what has happened to the money allocated by the government for the exclusive use of the Wandsworth Link. This amounted to over half a million pounds over a three year period. We have yet to receive an adequate explanation as to where this money has gone to.Because of the cramped agenda time did not allow for a proper debate.
If the Link is to be a transparent and democratic organisation which is controlled by the membership then there needs to be a much more imaginative approach as to how the membership can become involved.
A first step might be a meeting devoted just to this topic. That way those who think you elect an executive and they make all the decisions can debate with those of us who feel that all executive decisions concerning strategy, representation, policy etc should be ratified by the membership.
The rights of all members should be equal.
