Help the community to monitor and improve health and social care services

During 2011 Wandsworth Local Involvement Network will become Wandsworth HealthWatch as part of significant changes to the way in which local health and care services will be organised and funded.  HealthWatch will need members who are interested in

-       Talking to patients, carers and service users about the services they receive and reporting back.

-       Being a LINk/HealthWatch representative on patient/carer groups

-       Representing patient/carer/community views on hospital/community health/mental health/social services Boards and committees

-       Contributing to the production of publicity material

-       Recruiting other volunteers and activists to  HealthWatch

-       Supporting our `Enter and View` process whereby teams of volunteer undertake visits to sites where services are provided.

You do not need any special qualifications or experience to get involved except being a Wandsworth resident.  However people may be interested who:

-       Have personal experience of services because they live with long term health conditions, mental health issues or disabilities

-       Are as yet unemployed graduates seeking work in the health and social care field or in social policy

-       Are currently working and have an interest in volunteering in the health and social care sector.

-       Are retired and would like to use their skills and experience to help improve health and social care services in the community

-       Represent groups or community who are less likely to access services they may need.

Elections to the Executive Board take place every year  to ensure that active members get a chance to stand.
