Health & Social Care

This page reports on current issues and actions in the Wandsworth health and social care scene.

Please contact the LINk office if you have any information or news that you feel would be of interest to the Wandsworth LINk.

1. Adult Services Consultation on User on Engagement

The LINk’s response to the Adult Services Consultation on User on Engagement sent to Dawn Warwick, Director of Adult Services, June 2009. You can see the Council’s consultative document here:

September 2009
LINk Response to Consultation on Wandsworth’s Carers’ Strategy
– the views expressed by 25 people who attended the two consultation meetings and anecdotal evidence from carers who have approached LINk. LINk’s focus is on services for adults so comments are not offered here about services to children and young people.September 2009

2. Comment on Wandsworth Joint Strategic Needs Assessment 2008

The Wandsworth Older People’s Forum (WOPF) have identified a key role for the LINk in their comments on Wandsworth Council’s and the PCT’s analysis of the health and social care needs of the Wandsworth population (click the link above or here to read the WOPF’s comments).

3. Professional Executive Committee Reports

Andrew Craig is the Lay Member of the Professional Executive Committee (PEC) of Wandsworth Primary Care Trust (the PCT) which commissions all health services in the borough. He reports about issues that are relevant to patients and the public that are discussed at PEC meetings and you can read the current and past issues of his report here.

If you want an insider’s view of what goes on in the “engine room” at the PCT, these reports are for you.

4. Annotated agenda for NHS Wandsworth Board meetings

We thought it would help LINk members to understand the health and social care agenda of the PCT if we made available the annotated agenda for NHS Wandsworth Board meetings produced by Andrew Craig as part of his role as the lay member of the Professional Executive Committe. Andrew gives his own views in a commentary on the issues the Board is going to discuss so helping outsiders understand more about what is being proposed. This is generally available the day before the Board meets and we will do our best to let you know they are available as soon as we get the news ourselves. The latest example is for the meeting held at the beginning of May 2009.
